Volunteer Opportunities

Rhythm Guitarist
Commitment:

  • The first Thursday of every month (or every other month) from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Group Leaders
Mature Christians (men and women) who can make a weekly commitment to facilitating a gender-based group of six to eight attendees. An easy-to-follow format is provided. This is not therapy or counseling, but an opportunity to help others share their hurts, habits, hang-ups in a safe and confidential setting.

  • Commitment: Thursdays (weekly) from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Tech Operator
Operate audio, lights, and slides during the Large Group Meeting on Thursday nights (approx. once every three weeks).

  • Time commitment: Thursdays, 6:00 p.m. - 7:05 p.m.  Approximately once every three weeks.
  • Basic computer skills required. Complete training provided.

Platform & Signage Setup 
Time required to complete: 20 minutes
Begin no earlier than 4:00 p.m.
Completed by 6:10 p.m. 

  • Move table (on wheels) from storage area to The Underground entrance 
  • Organize items on table 
  • Move vertical banners from storage area to platform 
  • Place spotlights on platform floor in front of banners 
  • Check that seating is setup correctly in The Underground 
  • Check that chairs are set up correctly in Group rooms
  • Check that doors to Group pods are unlocked
  • Position four internal destination signs in gold-framed fixtures (scattered around the campus) and position in designated locations: 
  1. Main Floor near Door #4 entrance (next to vertical sign fixture) 
  2. Garden Level in front of Funshine administrative offices (i.e. to direct guests coming out of stairs or Door #4 elevator) 
  3. Garden Level to direct attendees to Small Group locations 
  4. Garden Level to direct attendees to The Underground (just outside the entrance to The Underground)  

Platform & Signage Teardown
Time required to complete: 15-20 minutes
Begin no earlier than 8:00 p.m.

  • Give any money in product basket (for material purchases) on information table to Jon (or to Marion if Jon is gone) 
  • Move table (on wheels) from The Underground entrance to the storage area 
  • Move vertical banners from platform to storage area 
  • Pick up the two spotlights on platform floor and set on information table in storage 
  • Remove internal destination signs from gold-framed fixtures and leave on top of information table in storage
  • Move gold-framed fixtures to Main Floor and set against wall on Children’s Building side of Door #4 Welcome Center 

Childcare
Time commitment: 6:15 p.m. - 8:10 p.m.
Provide childcare so parents with small children can attend Fresh Start meetings.
Note: Grace Church performs background checks on all children's volunteers.
