Profile of Pastor Rob Wassenaar

Rob Wassenaar grew up in Edina, MN where he led his American Legion Baseball team to the World Series title in 1983. He then went to Stanford University and was a 4-year letter winner and finished his senior year on the 1987 NCAA College World Series Champions. After graduation, Rob immediately started his 7-year baseball career in the minor leagues, traveling all around the country chasing his lifelong dream. He played 4 seasons in the Minnesota Twins organization, finishing his final three seasons in AAA. While he did not make the Major Leagues, Rob says, "I have no regrets and am grateful that I had the chance. I chased a dream, played with and against the world's best players, and I loved every minute of it. Most importantly, I witnessed how sports can be used to reach and touch people with the life-saving message of faith in Jesus Christ."

Rob is currently the Baseball Chapel Leader for the Minnesota Twins. Through this ministry, Rob provides Chapel services for home and visiting teams, umpires and front office personnel each Sunday, facilitates small group bible studies and initiates one-on-one discipleship.
