Where Did We Go?

Sunday Worship Services

All Team Worship with our partners at First Baptist Church, Athi River.

A total of 2800 Kenyans and 70 Grace team members praised and glorified God for over 6 hours!

Athi River Crusade

George Kenworthy was the main speaker for the evening crusade which ministered to over 2000. Dustin Kelm performed with his unicycle and shared his testimony of salvation. By the end of the evening we saw 28 new decisions for Christ.

Highlighted Ministry:

Door to Door

As Dave Gibson & Caryl Hayward are often quoted saying, “All of us are on the evangelism team.” We are keeping the focus of evangelism our core objective for this mission by dedicating an entire team to daily evangelizing door to door in the neighborhoods in which we are serving. This team of 10 warriors for Christ sets out at 9am each day knocking on doors, stopping people in the street, and taking every opportunity to share the gospel. Today they saw 53 new decisions for Christ. Every Grace team member will have at least one opportunity to join these warriors in sharing the gospel as we minister in Kenya.

Bega Kwa Bega (Shoulder to Shoulder)

Before arriving at the Athi River rally grounds, Roger Wolter and his First Baptist Church translator, Tabatha, stopped at a few businesses along the side of the road to share the gospel with those gathered round. A few yards away from the crusade grounds, the road split, and Roger and Tabatha stood at the crossroads. A man dressed in black and apparently using a locally made drug, agreed to stop to listen to a gospel presentation. In pure “Bega Kwa Bega” fashion, Roger spoke with the man as Tabatha translated. Using the location as an example, Roger explained the free choice between the two directions, and equated it to choosing life or choosing a road bound for destruction. The man, Peter, was conflicted. Speaking in Swahili, Tabatha used the Word of God as reference and convinced Peter to spit out the drugs, and listen more closely to God’s plan for salvation. After a tag-team discussion with Peter, he did accept Jesus personally. It was a living enactment of John 8:36, "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."

God At Work Through Us: Team Testimonials

Caryl Hayward and Jim Parrish, along with their translator Joseph were working with the Door to Door ministry on Sunday at Athi River. They approached a small group of guys and asked if they could show them a presentation of the EvangeCube. The men agreed, and soon a small crowd of additional men gathered to a total of 8 to 10. After the presentation, Caryl and Jim went to each person individually and gave them an opportunity to accept Christ. All of the men prayed to receive Christ.

As members of the Door to Door team were pursuing people to share the Gospel, they came upon a woman named Lucinda sitting on the side of the road in Athi River. She was waiting for the Crusade to begin, and was resting after a two mile walk to the crusade area. After presenting the Gospel to Lucinda, she prayed to receive Christ.
