Missions Trips

Please also be prayerfully considering joining the one of several missions opportunities with Grace Church during 2012!  We will be taking trips to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to nations around the world!  We will be going to:

Kairos Small Groups There are many small groups that meet throughout the week.  Small groups are great opportunities to connect with others and dig into the Word.  We'd love to help you get connected to a group.  Please reply back if you're interested and we'll connect you with a leader!

Come and Pray for Kairos!

ALL are welcome to join us at 6:15 pm each Tuesday, before Kairos to pray!  Praying corporately with one another not only aligns our own hearts, but it aligns our hearts with the Almighty, our Savior Jesus! We want to cover our ministry in prayer as Paul describes in Ephesians 6:18 - "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."  We hope to see you there!

Volunteer at Grace....Interested in pouring into the lives of others at Grace?  Opportunities abound from serving young children, all the way to junior high and high school students.  Also serving with children with special needs! There are STILL many openings to serve, would you consider and pray how YOU might be involved in serving our NEXT generation for Christ? In February & March we will venture through Compassion by Command, a 6-week long video series training for those whose hearts have been called to serve the Lord.

Monday evenings 7:00pm to 8:30pm - Minnetonka beginning 1/30

After the 6 weeks are complete all groups will meet together in mid-March to view the entire movie with dinner.

The Compassion by Command 6-week long small group series and follow-up movie presentation was designed as a bible study course to help Christians gain a new understanding -- a broadened understanding -- of what Scripture and what God says about His heart for the poor.  Through the weekly segmented video introductions, small group time, and the portioned movie excerpts we will see the challenges that the poor face and how we may get involved using our time, abilities and spiritual gifts individually and as a team from Grace Church to serve those less fortunate in our community.  The movie excerpts are taken from a full length feature movie which will be shown to the combined small groups in mid-March along with dinner.  Please join us!

Tuesday, February 7th (5:00p - 9:00p or 4:30p set-up)

Food distribution is sponsored through the Union Gospel Mission.  There are opportunities to serve a hot meal, help with a mobile dental clinic, loading groceries, registration, or assisting on a personal ministry team.  We may sit with people during meals, help on line in the basement or assist shoppers.  There may be 5-15 kids in the children's program we could help.  They will need assistance with clean up afterwards. Join us as we converse at tables, serve food, and assist with gathering clothing from Clothing Closet for attendees. This will be an opportunity to talk about your faith and pray with people. Meet us in the Divine Grind / Commons area by Door 4 at Grace Church.

***FOCUS (Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve/Food, Occupation, Clothing, Understanding, Shelter) Minnesota, 1600 E. Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407***

Sunday, February 26th (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

Volunteers usually arrive around 4:00 pm and set-up is from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Dinner is served from 5pm-7pm. Volunteers needed as kitchen staff, servers, greeters, beverage people, fellowship/visitors, and everyone pitches in with clean-up. Everyone follows a general checklist posted in the kitchen before each meal to help keep everyone on target.

FOCUS meals are served to each person individually at the table; no pot-luck or buffet style serving. FOCUS encourages any volunteer in attendance, who is comfortable, to sit with their guests and visit with them over a meal or a cup of coffee. As you can imagine these people are often the ignored, the disenfranchised, and FOCUS simply wants to create an environment- even to a small degree- of love and fellowship.

There's a "Kairos at Grace" group on Facebook.  We're going to try and keep it updated with any events that are going on (or last minute events that get planned).  It won't include all the information from these emails, but the big things that are happening will be posted there.

Sit with us on Sundays!  

If you're looking for some people to sit with on Sunday mornings, a large group of Kairosians sit together in the 2nd service (9:30 am)  You can find them in the back half of the main floor.  When you're looking at the stage, they are on the right...not the far right section, but the next one over...usually about 4-5 rows back.  If you'd like to meet someone by a door the first week, email back to this email and we'll make sure you get connected with someone who can meet up with you.
